Hussein Edward Abugri Esq is an Engineer, Lawyer and HR practitioner and Management Consultant who holds a BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), MSc Degree in Engineering Management and an Intermediate Management Development Programme obtained from the Universities of Witwatersrand and Cape Town in South Africa, respectively. He also qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor after successfully graduating from the Faculty of Law at KNUST and the Ghana School of Law, and was called to the Ghana Bar in October 2010.

Hussein started his working life in the then Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited (Now AngloGold Ashanti Ltd, AGA) as an Official Learner before being sponsored to the KNUST and upon completion, worked in various Engineering Departments and the Human Resources Department, rising to become Head of Administration and Deputy Managing Director at the Obuasi Mine. He also worked in Zimbabwe and South Africa during his period at AGA. He joined Newmont Ghana Gold Limited in 2015 and was the Head of Labour Relations for the Africa Region based in Accra until December 2022, when he was assigned to Suriname in South America for two and a half years as HR Advisor. Hussein is currently a Legal Practitioner with our firm. He is also a Management Consultant with Fuzzy1963 Consult.

Hussein is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with the Human Resources Certification Institute of the USA, an Associate of the Centre for International Mediators and Arbitrators (England and Wales), Mediator and Arbitrator with the National Labour Commission of Ghana and a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, USA and Ghana Institution of Engineers.
